Yuji Sano, a man working at a terrible Japanese company, is summoned to another world with stats and skills. He becomes a “Tamer,” deemed as an unfortunate role, and tames slimes, monsters known as the weakest of them all, but his skill ends up being surprisingly useful! Not only that, he learns powerful magic from some strange spellbooks to unlock a second character class, “Sage”!

Yuji travels to a town noted for its great cuisine, but that town has been rocked by a sudden cold wave. Yuji uses his skills and slime powers to make them all the firewood they could ever need, cure a group afflicted with carbon monoxide poisoning, and generally use his knowledge of the modern world to save the town from peril. As he goes looking for any clues into the source of the mysterious cold wave, he stumbles upon something unexpected…
